include a 95 900SS a 03 999S and an 05 999S, all in excellentt condition.I bought this bike fairly recently on ebay with the view to convert into an Imola Special, but upon its arrival i decided it was too nice an example to modify, so i have decided to use one of my old GTS`s for this purpose. The Darmah remains as it was when i bought it, apart from a short local run it has stood in my workshop under a cover. It is in lovely cosmetic and mechanical condition, and sounds fantastic through its Conti rep exhausts and its 40mm carbs.There was plenty of interest when this bike was last advertised , my last Darmah went to Hong Kong, it would b nice to think this one would stay in the UK.Im not desperate to sell as i am a Ducati obsessive, owning over dozen other various models, im not interested in a part exchange or swap, unless its another Duke, then i might consider it. the United States and came with the rare but attractive half (bikini) fairing which is pictured along side a single seat unit and both front and back carbon fibre wheel huggers these are all sold with the bike I purchased the full fairing and single seat unit from a mechanic from Baines racing Silverstone who serviced the bike for me. Some light tweeks have been carried out on the bike by Baines this included enhancing the exhausts by stripping the original sleeves rebuilding the exhaust, and put back together using the factory ducati sleeves so they look standard. Fitting of higher compression pistons and an extra oil cooler this improved the mid-range power and makes the bike easier to ride when cruising. I have all receipts. 1982 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and I know its entire history (warts and all…) to be shared with the new owner. Much of it is well documented as it won Classic Bike magazine`s “Classic Bike of the Year” at the Excel show in February last year and was the subject of a write up in the March 09 issue of the magazine. Since then the top end of the motor has been completely rebuilt, finishing the total rebuild the bike has undergone since I got it back in 2004. I have about 100 pics of the bike at various stages showing the full rebuild. What was done? Stripped to a bare frame and powder coated in red. Forks stripped, powder coated, new seals. New Hagon shocks. Wheels stripped, checked and powdercoated by Dymag. Original discs on powdercoated carriers. Calipers and master cylinders rebuilt with all new seals. Motor stripped and rebuilt: Crank rebuilt by Don Godden Engineering with all new bearings. All crankcase bearings replaced Original late 3 dog gearbox checked over (no damage at all) and replaced. Bottom end rebuilt with all new seals and gaskets by myself (I`m a Mech. Engineer). Cylinders rebored by Nigel Lacey to 0.5mm oversize to suit new JE forged pistons from Syd`s Cycles in Florida.
