over 35yrs and can say that these are still the best handling bikes in the world; everyone should own a duke once in their lives. I always get everywhere first but ride slowest. Just because the handling and confidence they give is superb. I looked very hard to find one this good and when I bought it the owner kept it in his living room next to the patio door. I never took a test drive, he just opened the doors and started it up I was in love! I keep it in a carpeted heated garage! The bike has a genuine 20,000 miles with full service history all the original Hand books, Service books, spare keys, datatagged,document wallets and every MOTs proving the mileage year by year. (Don`t confuse this with adverts for fake low miles bikes that have been trackdayed to death then had the clocks & bodywork put back on). I have a HPI check certificate from when I bought it but you do another if you wish. The last service was at 19000miles and had new front & rear pads. The cam belts were done at the previous service at 16500 miles by Mototcinelli, the service schedule says they need replacing every 20,000KM (12,000Mls) but the previous owner had them changed them every 6,000ml so either way they wont need doing for while yet. are one of the best looking and sounding bikes around.When I brought her, she was in need of a bit of TLC so I set to work.She has been fully striped down and shotblasted and powder coating on the frame and wheels. Frame in Red (Sub frame black) and wheels black.I then renewed every bearing on the bike including, headrace, wheel bearings, suspension, swingarm, clutch bearings.I had the engine serviced and checked over by Moto Rapido of Winchester.Also changed all the lights on the bike to LED`s including new clear rear light cluster, integrated indicators on wing mirrors and rear indicators. Also uprated the wiring from the alternator to retifier (known fault on these bike, but once done you`d need not worry again.)Went through the bike with a fine tooth comb and replaced many parts listed below:Stainless brake hoses throughout.Stainless clutch hoses.Uprated clutch master cylinder (easier on the hand changing gear)Alloy clutch basket and pressure plate inc springs and new clutch plates and bearings.New chain and spockets.Termingoni carbon end cans.Carbon air box.carbon air tubes.Pipercross air filter.New brake pads all round.New fairings, new mudguard, new solo seat and tank repainted.Polished exhaust system.New battery6 month tax12 months mot (guy in the MOT centre tried to get me to sell there and then as well! :-) )Forks ser X | £3395.00 | |||||||
