Rubber all pretty good and everything is really super clean with no nasty rust about the place - even under the seat, which is where the tell-tale signs usually are. The bike requires some minor repairs which include front fork seals, leaking front caliper and has some surface rust. part of a swap with my BMW R60 as i thought i would give the more modern BMW a go and she was getting too heavy for her previous owner.Unfortunately it is not for me so she is for sale so i can replace her with a more classic BMW.It is a great bike but a little too modern for me. I have done a couple of thousand miles throughout the summer on her and she is a great ride. I recently replaced the clutch as it was slipping (receipt for clutch) other than that the bike has given me no trouble whatsoever. However the bike is 14 years old and does have a couple of bad points which are ... scuff on right hand rocker cover and mirror (see pics) the electric screen has stopped working, but i may have time to fix. One of the orange tabs off one of the pannier locking systems has snapped off (see pic) and a small piece of trim from the right hand side is missing. miles on the clock - just 24600 miles!! and I have done 2600 miles since I bought it in July 2009 when it was serviced by MS motorcycles in Newcastle. It has dealer service stamps up to March 2009 at 21400 miles along with service booklet and a load of receipts. Apparently the odometer has been changed from kilometers to miles at 4380km in Jan 2004 but the bike is registered as new at date of first registration in the UK on V5. 11 months MOT / 3 months tax on bike. The guy that owned it before I did rode it all over the place and it never broke down on him. I rode it all over the place in the year I had it and it never broke down on me, either. It`s not pretty and it you want a matching number, service-documented, never touched or carefully restored bike, then get your hair products out, slick back your `do and go buy another one. This one is from when men were men and even the women had beards. `Nuff said. There`s no steering lock, no key for the fuel cap, the lights all work except for neutral and oil, clocks work, it tracks straight and handles fine. Plenty of grunt and it pulls like a train from 2K > 6K. I don`t know the mileage or previous owners. changed the Gear box oil, Shaft Drive oil, and a full engine oil and filter change twice, replaced the spark plugs, changed the air filter for a K&N, fitted a short rear torque arm and fitted a new front tyre. Also has a few expensive extras fitted such as extra tall touring screen, all round engine crash bars, grip wing deflectors and steering damper. Clock and rev counter have been fitted as extras but the rev counter does not work suspected bad connection under the tank. With the ultra reliable air cooled boxer twin engine, shaft drive and stainless exhaust as standard these make a great everyday tourer/commuter. Very clean for the year with just some peeling to the engine casing paint underneath as is common to the model but nothing to spoil the overall great look. to like it that much but in fact it has been brilliant!. So much so that I have now ditched the K and bought a new 2010 R1200 GS Adventure, so this has got to go... It really has been a great bike and well looked after and I`m not sure if the pics will do it justice. It is on a 54 plate but was 1st registered in 2005. It now has 14600 miles on the clock, Is fitted with a BMW alarm, has heated grips, abs and comes with a full set of undented panniers. A touring screen has been fitted, a bagster tank cover (no tank bag) as well as a optimate lead for battery charging. Has a very good rear tyre and a brand new front. If you are thinking of bidding I would highly recommend a viewing to avoid disappiontment. This bike is a 2005 model and is a lot better than quite a few younger bikes that I saw when I was looking to buy, but it does have the little bmw tell tale signs. A bit of blistering on the front engine bolts but nothing you would not get on a 2007 bike, so please do not expect perfection. the water pump and various parts with new on ones. The frame and/wheels were powder coated and a full panel re-sprayed in the original BMW Baga red colour. Currently done 96,000 miles even though the Speedo is showing 54,000 as this had to be replaced when the original became faulty. Everything electrical and mechanical works as it should and there is an auxiliary power socket for Sat Nav connection. The bike had been very reliable and has being to the South of France a couple of times and also did Germany a couple of time. It is a very reliable and comfortable touring bike and can do 500 miles a day on the comfortable King and Queen seat. Regularly serviced and with oil changes to Engine, Gearbox and final drive. The Bevel box splines have been regularly checked and greased and a new clutch was installed a year ago. Tires have still got a lot of miles left on them. Bike comes with original panniers but no top-box. Stainless steel exhaust and also lots of stainless steel fasteners. I love the bike but it has to go as I have two other similar BMW`s. This will be a great bike for someone who will like to tour or use for everyday commuting as it gives full weather protection. The engine on these bikes will go for another 200,000 miles.
