version of the renowned F650 GS, the only thing the CS model really shared with its multi-purpose sibling was the superb and almost unburstable single-cylinder Rotax engine. With impeccable manners around town, open the throttle and it`s no slouch on the open road. It copes with motorway cruising with ease (and comfort) with a top speed of nearly 110mph and fuel consumption of up to 100mpg! (I can vouch for this – I`ve done it myself on a run on my GS). The belt drive is ideal if you`re after low-maintenance riding all year round as well as providing a smooth and quiet ride. There were various luggage options available to make the most of the storage area in the false tank, but it can be used to carry a spare helmet. Ideal for new riders or those of us who are on the petite side, the low seat height and low centre of gravity is a big plus. This bike was originally part of the demo fleet at the award-winning CW Motorcycles in Dorchester who performed a 12,000-mile service on the bike before selling it to my friend in 2007.
